Intake Specialists are essential to the virtual tax prep process. From their assessment of the taxpayer's situation to determining what information or documentation is still needed , Intake Specialists are key to ensuring a smooth tax prep process.

Basic certified Tax Preparers prepare simple tax returns as stipulated by the IRS and publication 4012.

Advanced (or higher) Tax Preparers prepare both basic and more complex tax returns (e.g. Schedule C, 1099-DIV, etc) and can serve as Quality Reviewers.

You must be certified at least Advanced and assigned this role by a Virtual VITA site coordinator.
